Oregon, Summer 2006
I always love getting away to Oregon in the summer! It's really nice to be able to get together with family and just hang out.Grandpa's memorial service was beautiful; I'm so glad that mom was able to get me out there to attend.
Father's Day was a blast at Aunt Coleens place! Not only did I get to spend time with my own dad, but Jenny, Aunt Tanya, Mieka, and Grandma Betty, among other people.
The cream puffs were incredible. Were those made from scratch, or were they from a box?
Grandma Cath was there, too. She flew out for the memorial service and stayed with mom for a few weeks.
We missed Deb and the girls this year, though!
For mom's 59th birthday, we spent the day floating down the river on a raft. We even brought along lunch so we could pull off the river when we wanted to and relax. We only got stuck on a rock once in the middle of the river. We had problems getting Grandma to a bathroom, and she was slightly injured after we encountered some low-hanging branches when we tried to pull off the water (nothing serious, but at the time, we were worried!). Aunt Cathy took lots of photos. Hey, Aunt Cathy, if you're reading this, please email me copies! Overall, a good time was had by all.
Next year I may be going out to visit earlier in June for Robbie's graduation from high school. Robbie, I can't believe that you're graduating already! You've grown up so fast! I'm really proud of you. :)
